April 2018
Hi everyone,
I hope 2018 is in full swing for all of you, and that you're beginning to see some springtime wherever you are.
If you haven't already heard the news, my pal Todd Silas is moving back to Montana this month, so the days of Taggart & Silas have reached a natural end. I've enjoyed the musical relationship and friendship I've had with Todd even more than I like beer, and I'll miss making music with him, and our post gig commiserations. I do always wish he and Gretchen all the happiness they can muster.
I've also decided to take a hiatus of my own from performing solo for awhile. I've had an autoimmune disorder for a long time now called Graves Disease. It was in remission for a number of years, but the past couple of months its returned with some tenacity. It has affected my overall energy level to the point that its difficult to play for long periods of time, so I'm going to take some time, get good healing help, and get myself back to spring chickenhood.
I won't be completely fallow. I'll still be playing the occasional date with Paul Chet & the Whiskey Chickens, and I'll continue to be the music director at Unity of Fort Collins. I also have a deep desire to finish recording all the songs I've written in the past 20 years or so. So you haven't heard the last of me.
Love and blessings to you all,
Franklin
